QUEEN LIGHT'S ART GALLERY

"ART IN THE SPECTRUM"

Art is her passion, respite and source of peace. She cannot draw herself yet she feels each piece created by an individual in the spectrum shows a part of her soul.

OLIVER WALSH

I’m a 23 year old born in London who happens to have Asperger's.  Art is something I love to explore and which gives me a sense of peace in a world that can be a bit of a struggle at times.

At school I studied Art and Design and have continued to enjoy this form of expressive creativity.  I would like to continue this work in the future as an illustrator or graphic designer. In the meantime I hope you like my work, some of which is shown here.

KYLE LEAHY WALSH

This is the story behind these fun and meaningful creations...

Lesa Leahy Walsh writes:

During the recent TMR Auction (Thinking Moms Revolution), a fellow Autism Warrior Mom, Yadira Calderon bid a separate fee if Kyle would agree to draw a cartoon based on the characters in her new, upcoming book.

He said he would, but school started and projects and assignments hit like a brick. He didn't have class today and he got caught up on his assignments, so he spent a long tome drawing her request.

I printed out the characters she sent us and he did a B&W and a color version. Here we go and he hopes you like what he did. Thanks again for giving Kyle this opportunity!

Queen Light responds:

The opportunity is for all of us. Kyle Leahy Walsh welcome... We thank you!

Thomais is 7yrs old. At 2.5 yrs old she stopped talking the three languages she was learning. The classic signs of regressive autism showed up Dec. 2010.

July 2013 - an incredible teacher taught her how to hold the pencil correctly. End of the month... she was drawing non stop...

The transition has been fabulous... she's detailed, a theme is highlighted and most of the time she's in the middle of the action.

Lately, she's been drawing less and less. On the other hand, she's becoming quite the story teller. She spends one hr on the phone exchanging made up and real stories with Dad.
